About the event
You are invited to a free, 60 minute Gentle Yoga/Moving Meditation class created for those struggling with grief and loss due to the impacts of homicide and suicide. Traumatic events in our lives impact us in many ways emotionally and physically. If we don’t acknowledge our emotions associated with the trauma in our lives, those emotions can get stuck and ‘live’ in the body. Some ways our struggle can get stuck is chronic fatigue, headaches, digestive problems, depression which not only create discomfort, but if left unattended can lead to more serious physical ailments in our lives.
This class will use a combination of movement, your breath and voice as a way to recognize and identify where we may be holding onto our pain. We’ll create an awareness within and use movement and sound to help us be able to release and work through the struggle. You can expect some very basic yoga poses and most if not all can be accessed while in a chair.
Please pre-register by responding to the email below. Attendance at all four classes is recommended, but not mandatory. If you’ll be needing a yoga mat, please let me know and I can provide assistance.
